Anti-Israel protesters on Monday disrupted an event at Auschwitz, the infamous Nazi concentration camp in Poland, commemorating the six million Jews killed in the Holocaust by the Nazis.
The International March of the Living, an annual Holocaust education program founded in 1988, brings people from around the world to Poland each year for Israel’s Holocaust Remembrance Day — known as Yom HaShoah — to march on the path leading from Auschwitz I to Auschwitz II-Birkenau, the Nazis’ largest death camp where 1 million Jews were murdered during World War II.
Survivors of the Hamas terror group’s Oct. 7 massacre across southern Israel joined 55 Holocaust survivors in this year’s march. However, amid the ongoing Israel-Hamas war in Gaza and the coinciding record surge in global antisemitism, anti-Israel protesters gathered near the grounds of Auschwitz, sparking outrage.
Local police put up a barricade to prevent dozens of demonstrators from approaching the marchers, who passed by as the protesters shouted slogans including “stop the genocide.”

The impact of the riots at the Stonewall Inn in June 1969 has often been overblown. Those few summer days when the beleaguered gay community fought back against the police on the streets of New York City are rightly considered a milestone in the struggle for equal rights in the West. But endless arguments about ‘who threw the first brick?’ have obscured the truth that gay equality was achieved by the activists who persisted in the aftermath, harnessing that energy and changing the world forever.
Perhaps a more important milestone was the march organised by a handful of campaigners a year after Stonewall. Craig Rodwell’s idea had been to make this a yearly commemoration that would supersede the ‘Annual Reminder’ picket events that he had been holding every Independence Day in Philadelphia since 1965. It would be known as the ‘Christopher Street Liberation Day’ – later retrospectively rebranded as the first New York ‘Pride’ march – and it was orchestrated chiefly by Rodwell, Fred Sargeant, Linda Rhodes and Ellen Broidy.
The march took place on 28 June 1970, and it was an audacious display. Police hostility to gay people was rife, the local media were overwhelmingly unsympathetic and there were fears of violent repercussions from observers. The day passed off peacefully, perhaps because of a general sense of astonishment that thousands of gay people would assemble so openly. A reporter for the Village Voice wrote that ‘no one could quite believe it, eyes rolled back in heads, Sunday tourists traded incredulous looks, wondrous faces poked out of air-conditioned cars’. At the head of the march, Fred Sargeant carried a bullhorn and called out instructions to the marchers as they made their way from the West Village to Central Park.
Fifty-four years later, and Pride has transformed from an important act of resistance into a month-long orgy of corporatism and virtue-signalling, full of heterosexuals desperate to identify themselves into an oppressed group with the help of trans ideology. ‘Progress Pride’ flags flutter from every high-street store. This relatively new design – a kaleidoscopic eyesore that has replaced the traditional six-stripe Pride flag – is emblazoned on schools, universities, hospitals, civic buildings. In the city of Arlington in Texas, this year’s family friendly Pride event included displays of dildos, half-naked drag queens and human dogs in bondage gear, all co-spon.sored by Lockheed Martin, the world’s largest producer of armaments. In London, numerous pedestrian crossings have been repainted with the ‘Progress Pride’ motif. Police horses find walking across the coloured stripes confusing and disturbing, so the animals have undergone special training to overcome their fears. After all, it is essential to address the rampant homophobia within the equine community.
What might the thousands who turned out on that summer day in New York in 1970 make of this distorted version of Pride? Those gay men and lesbians who risked social ostracism and physical violence to gather in public have little in common with this garish and unsettling facsimile. A poll from 2021 determined that almost 40 per cent of Americans between the ages of 18 and 24 now identify as LGBTQ. Given the vast majority identifying as such do so as ‘trans’, ‘nonbinary’ and ‘queer’, this means it is statistically certain that gay people are now the minority in this coalition. The early pioneers of gay rights didn’t risk so much for their movement to be usurped by fetishistic heterosexuals with a martyr complex.
It would be interesting to see polling data on how many gay people support Pride in its new ‘trans-inclusive’ incarnation. One recent poll on X asked a simple question: ‘Do you want Pride anymore?’ And although 93.5 per cent of respondents replied in the negative, social-media polls are notoriously useless and we would be unwise to draw any conclusions from them. Still, it is surely significant that this poll was reposted by Fred Sargeant, and that his answer was a resounding ‘No’. That the man who led the first Pride march, bullhorn in hand, should now reject the annual event that he co-created because of its embrace of gender ideology is far from trivial. Nor is it trivial that while handing out pamphlets critical of the trans movement at a Pride event in Vermont in 2022, Sargeant was physically attacked by trans activists.
Tumblr media
[ A parade through New York City on Christopher Street Gay Liberation Day, 1971. ]
He is not alone. Many gay people have expressed dismay at the metamorphosis of Pride and feel that it no longer represents them. This can be confusing for those who have not been paying attention to its ongoing political evolution, but there is a very good reason why groups of gay men and lesbians are now holding alternative Pride rallies this year. In August 2022, police insisted that lesbians leave a Pride parade because their banners, proclaiming that ‘lesbians don’t like penises’ and ‘trans activism erases lesbians’, were causing consternation. When gay people are being escorted away from Pride marches by the police, we can safely say that the movement has fallen.
Some might argue that the LGBTQIA+ explosion is an example of what happens when liberalism goes unchecked, that it is the natural consequence of an excess of tolerance and the rise of identity politics. Yet while identity politics in its current intersectional form has proven to be deeply illiberal and regressive, there have been sound reasons throughout history for people with shared characteristics to organise and resist. Unlike the various campaigns for imaginary victimhood that dominate today’s ‘social justice’ causes, being openly gay in the 1970s came at a huge cost. At the time of the first Pride parade, every state in the US with the exception of Illinois criminalised gay sex. In services and employment, discrimination against gay people was permitted, and even most progressives assumed that homosexuality was a mental illness. This is a world away from the exaggerated or fabricated grievances of the diversity, equity and inclusion industry today.
Now that gay people have complete equal rights under the law, the protest element of Pride has been appropriated by those with an apparent craving for oppression. Asexual activists, for instance, have taken centre stage at certain Pride events, even though nobody in the history of humankind has ever been burned at the stake for not wanting to have sex. It isn’t the case that those who identify as asexual are facing discrimination; it’s that nobody cares about what they don’t get up to in the bedroom. But of course, for those of a narcissistic temperament, there can be nothing more devastating than being ignored.
Tumblr media
[ Furries march on Congress Street during the annual Pride Portland parade, 2017. ]
Many of those who call themselves ‘nonbinary’ are similarly vocal, but there is no serious comparison to be made between the historical persecution of homosexuals and experiencing some pushback when you demand that others refer to you as ‘they’ or ‘them’. Coming out as gay in 1970 increased the risk of being violently assaulted; coming out as ‘nonbinary’ today only increases one’s chances of being employed at the BBC.
Of course, all of this must be symptomatic of the developing cult of victimhood in the Western world. Ironically, there is now power in being the victim. Those who claim to be ‘marginalised’ are able to get people fired, drive them from public life, and harass and bully them in the name of ‘progress’. Who would have thought there was so much clout in being oppressed?
Far from being a collective gesture of unity, Pride is now widely interpreted as a celebration of homophobia. This is because it has become infected with gender ideology, which seeks to eliminate gay people from their own history. Although trans-identified individuals were rarely seen at activist meetings and events in the early decades of the gay movement, revisionists are now insisting that gay people owe their rights to the hard work of trans campaigners. We are told that a black trans woman, Marsha P Johnson, was the key figure at the Stonewall riots. This is wrong on many counts. The riots were overwhelmingly dominated by young gay men. Although Johnson took part in the demonstrations, he wasn’t present when the rioting began. Most significantly, by his own admission, he was a transvestite who didn’t identify as female.
Fred Sargeant has been much vilified for exposing the truth of what took place in these early years of the gay rights’ movement, and he is now a thorn in the side of activists whose worldview depends on a narrative that runs contrary to the truth. Recently he posted a link to the Digital Transgender Archive on the Third International Conference on Transgender Law and Employment Policy, which explicitly outlines how gay and trans movements in the 20th century were completely separate. The conflation of the LGB and T is an invention as recent as 2015. As the document explains, while the gay-rights movement in the US began in the 1920s, ‘the existence of a transgendered community that seeks reforms did not come into existence until the 1990s’.
The historical revisionism doesn’t end at Stonewall. Activists have attempted to claim that certain gay historical figures were mistaking their true trans identity for homosexuality. Just as Mormon priests have been known to baptise the dead and thereby convert them unwillingly to their cause, trans activists have been busy harvesting the annals of history for potential recruits. Those falsely claimed as trans include George Eliot, Dr James Barry, Radclyffe Hall and Joan of Arc. People who were gay and gender nonconforming are particularly vulnerable to this kind of retrospective ‘transing’. It’s very convenient for activists that the dead can’t complain.
While many trans campaigners consider themselves supportive of gay rights, overt homophobia is nonetheless often tolerated and encouraged within their circles. There are innumerable examples online of trans activists claiming that homosexuality is a form of transphobia and that only bigots have ‘genital preferences’. ‘If you’re a cis gay man’, writes one, ‘and your sexuality revolves around you not liking female genitalia I hope you die and I will spit on your grave’. A video recently went viral featuring an activist explaining to gay men why they should transition to female and that ‘maybe being gay is an outdated concept’. An online influencer called Davey Wavey uploaded his attempt at gay conversion therapy in a video entitled ‘How To Eat Pussy – For Gay Men’. One can imagine it being shown to young men at an evangelical Christian retreat for those who wish to find a ‘cure’ for their immoral urges.
This isn’t simply a case of a handful of lunatics on the fringe – this idea has also been normalised in mainstream gay culture. Australia’s Human Rights Commission prohibits lesbians from holding female-only events on the grounds that it discriminates against men who identify as female. Sall Grover, the founder of women’s app Giggle, is currently in a legal battle in Australia because she refused to allow a man to join. Stonewall has even redefined ‘homosexuality’ on its website as ‘same-gender attracted’. Its former CEO, Nancy Kelley, once suggested that women who don’t wish to date trans people are ‘sexual racists’. No, Nancy, they’re just gay.
We have seen all this before. In the 1980s, it was a common trope for gay men to be told that they ‘just haven’t found the right girl yet’ and to suggest to lesbians that they ‘just need the right dick’. The rights of homosexuals depend upon a recognition that a minority of people are attracted to their own sex. Once sex is eliminated from the equation, gay rights are no longer tenable.
The most obvious example of how gay rights have been threatened by trans ideology is that young gay people are disproportionately at risk of surgical ‘correction’. Given that between 80 and 90 per cent of adolescents referred to the NHS Tavistock Clinic were orientated towards their own sex, it is clear that in many cases homosexuality was being treated as gender dysphoria. I am usually mistrustful of accusations of various ‘phobias’ which can be used as a rhetorical technique to discourage disagreement. But if medicalising people for being same-sex attracted doesn’t qualify as homophobic, I’m not sure that anything does.
And so Pride and its accoutrements have come to represent an ideology that seeks not only to erase the foundations of gay rights, but also to re-conceptualise same-sex attraction as a condition that requires medical treatment. When police officers decorate their cars with the Pride colours, when NHS workers display the rainbow lanyard, when schools decorate their halls with bunting in solidarity, they are almost certainly doing so with the noble intention of promoting equal rights. But they are inadvertently promoting a movement whose end goal is the eradication of homosexuality.
This is not to deny that the ‘Progress Pride’ flag and all it represents have been embraced by many gay people. It is clearly the case that a majority have not realised the extent to which the flag has been hijacked for a cause that actively works against their interests. The situation has hardly been helped by prominent celebrities, often now referred to as ‘Vichy gays’, who have cheered on this sinister development. Homosexuals are not immune to the condition of useful idiocy.
Given that Pride has become so divisive, and given that so many lesbians, bisexuals and gay men now consider it to be an essentially hostile enterprise, it would be prudent for corporations and government bodies to stop pretending that there is a consensus on this issue. Ignorance is no longer an excuse. By flying the ‘Progress Pride’ flag, they are taking a side in a highly contentious cultural debate, one that alienates as many gay people as it attracts. Those who are serious about gay rights need to distance themselves from Pride once and for all.

Princess Anne visit reveals how UK-Norway alliance helped to stop Nazis building atomic bomb
Royal trip highlights secret operation where a Norwegian team infiltrated a hydroelectic plant used by Germans to make ‘heavy water’

The Princess Royal has visited the site of a secret operation to stop the Nazi atomic bomb in Norway as she celebrated the “very special people involved” in the country’s wartime relationship with the UK.
The Princess spent two days in Norway, with a visit to the site of the little-known Operation Gunnerside where she laid flowers at the memorial.
The Second World War operation in 1943 saw a Norwegian team dropped by parachute to infiltrate a hydroelectric plant where the Nazis were developing “heavy water” to build an atomic bomb.
They destroyed the containers, escaping on skis for the 200 miles to Sweden, with the Special Operations Executive (SOE) action later considered the most successful sabotage of the war.
Soon afterwards, German forces attempted to move the remaining supplies of heavy water, which were used to create a heavy hydrogen isotope to use as a moderator in nuclear reactors, by ferry the Hydro. It was sunk by a resistance bomb with passengers including Norwegian families on board.
During her visit, the Princess met a senior local police officer who had a relative who survived the Hydro sinking, as well as members of the Norwegian armed forces.
The royal visit was intended to raise public awareness of the operation, and was arranged by John Andrews and Dr Tony Insall, the British author of Secret Alliances: Special Operations and Intelligence in Norway 1940-1945.
In a speech at the Industrial Workers Museum in Vemork, where there is a memorial to Operation Gunnerside, Princess Anne said: “There is always more that can be done to remind future generations just how remarkable the wartime relationship between our two countries was and the very special people involved.”
The Princess, who is patron of the Anglo-Norwegian Resistance Commemoration Project, went on to launch a competition to select a Norwegian sculptor to create a statue to “commemorate the bravery of those Norwegians and British who risked their lives in the campaign to restore freedom in Norway”.
Previously she had met Joachim Rønneberg, a leading figure of the Norwegian resistance, and members of the Linge Company, a Norwegian unit of the SOE.
“I know, from having spoken to Joachim and others, just how important Op Gunnerside was in disrupting the supply of heavy water to the Germans and helping to prevent Germany from acquiring atomic weapons,” said the Princess.
“But success came at a cost, and we remember the tragic loss of life of both commandos and air crew involved in Op Freshman, the first attempt to sabotage the plant which sadly failed.
“We remember also those who died later on the Hydro ferry. The building we are standing in today and the displays in the main museum are a wonderful tribute to those brave men and those who helped them who risked everything.”
Writing about the visit, Dr Insall and Mr Andrews said: “At the end of World War Two neither the British nor Norwegian governments made any public acknowledgement of the close cooperation between SIS [Secret Intelligent Services] and SOE, and the Norwegian resistance groups, the Linge Company and Milorg.
“This was unfortunate given the significant contribution of their work to the Allied war effort but was due to the secrecy surrounding British intelligence operations.
“The situation has now changed, and it has become possible to acknowledge the extent of the remarkable achievements on which Britain and Norway cooperated.”

Kaiju Week in Review (March 17-23, 2024)
Mere days to go before a new Godzilla movie... didn't we just do this?
Tumblr media
Before we welcome that latest entry, let's look back on one that just commemorated its golden anniversary. With Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla turning 50 on March 21, every member of Toho's Big Five has now hit the half-century mark. The company didn't mark the day itself with much; as has become typical, the celebration of Mechagodzilla (and presumably King Caesar) will be spread throughout the year. I wrote a bit about the magnificent machine, who I consider the best Godzilla antagonist, here. The film itself is one of Teruyoshi Nakano's masterpieces, an onslaught of animated rays and gorgeous explosions. The humans are forgettable, but they keep the pace brisk—and the alien commander Mugal is almost as devilish a villain as Mechagodzilla itself, especially in the English dub. Speaking of that dub, you can watch a video breaking down the entire voice cast here, thanks to the tireless work of the Save All Dubs! group.
Tumblr media
Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong #6 finally gets to the good stuff, with Lex Luthor piloting Mechagodzilla and commanding an army of Titans to raze Metropolis while the heroes counter with not one but two giant robots. It doesn't quite measure up to the Godzilla: Rulers of Earth finale, but like that double-sized issue, it required two artists (Christian Duce joined by Tom Derenick) to draw all those characters, and the results are impressive. The story hasn't grown any more complex, but I'm at least interested to see how it all wraps up.
In other Godzilla comic news, a Godziban manga by Sakuju Koizumi has started up, hosted by Telemaga, a tokusatsu-focused Kodansha site. The first installment was pretty short, so I'm guessing these'll be updated weekly. It isn't the first comic version of Godziban, as one called Godziman ran during the 1st Season, but this one's actually illustrated.
youtube
Tokyo's Ikebukuro district made Godzilla the honorary chief of police on March 16 to take part in a parade promoting traffic safety. The stunt made international headlines and generated no small amount of angst over Cop Godzilla. I think Gamera would've been better-suited to this campaign myself.
youtube
Here's the trailer for Season 2 of Chibi Godzilla Raids Again, revealing Gabara, Gigan, and Titanosaurus's designs. Looks as funny as the first one. Maaya Uchida, who sang the ending songs in SSSS.Gridman and SSSS.Dynazenon, will voice Chibi Minilla. It's gone weirdly neglected by English Godzilla social media accounts, but X user @MakoMattari translated it.
Tumblr media
The Music Box Theatre in Chicago has a Godzilla program for the ages scheduled for June 7-13, in honor of his 70th birthday. There's not a weak day on the schedule, but the clear highlight is a 24-hour marathon of the entire Showa series on the 8th, which I don't think has ever been attempted before.
G-Fest has also started announcing guests: Ayako Fujitani (Asagi in the Heisei Gamera trilogy) and Rie Ota (Baragon in GMK), both first-timers. Frankly, they could carry the con themselves if they have to; not sure who I'm more excited to meet!

Red Dress Day: Honouring Memories and Raising Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit People
May 6, 2024
Shaina Tranquilino
Tumblr media
In Canada, Red Dress Day serves as a poignant reminder of the ongoing crisis surrounding missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls, and two-spirit people (MMIWG2S). This solemn occasion, marked by the hanging of red dresses in public spaces, symbolizes the lives lost and the urgent need for justice and systemic change. As we commemorate Red Dress Day, it's crucial to reflect on the profound impact of this crisis and renew our commitment to advocating for the rights and safety of Indigenous communities across the country.
The Significance of the Red Dress:
The red dress has become a powerful symbol in the movement to raise awareness about MMIWG2S. It represents the women, girls, and two-spirit individuals who have gone missing or been murdered, their spirits, and the bloodshed that continues to stain the fabric of Indigenous communities. Each red dress hung serves as a silent tribute, a visual reminder of lives cut short and families torn apart by violence and injustice.
Honouring the Memories:
Red Dress Day is a time for reflection and remembrance. It's an opportunity for communities to come together to honour the memories of those who are no longer with us. Through ceremonies, gatherings, and art installations, Indigenous and non-Indigenous people alike pay tribute to the lives lost and reaffirm their commitment to seeking justice and accountability. It's a solemn occasion but also a chance to celebrate the resilience and strength of Indigenous communities in the face of adversity.
Raising Awareness and Demanding Action:
Beyond remembrance, Red Dress Day serves as a call to action. It's a reminder that the crisis of missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls, and two-spirit people is not a thing of the past but a present-day reality. Indigenous women are disproportionately affected by violence and are more likely to experience homicide or disappearance compared to non-Indigenous women. This alarming statistic underscores the urgent need for systemic change to address the root causes of this crisis, including colonialism, systemic racism, poverty, and inadequate access to resources and support services.
Advocates and activists use Red Dress Day as an opportunity to raise awareness about MMIWG2S and to demand action from governments, law enforcement agencies, and society at large. They call for improved support services for victims and their families, culturally sensitive policing practices, and meaningful efforts to address the underlying factors that contribute to violence against Indigenous women and girls. By amplifying their voices and advocating for change, they strive to ensure that the lives lost are not forgotten and that future generations can live free from fear and harm.
Red Dress Day is a solemn yet empowering occasion that reminds us of the ongoing crisis of missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls, and two-spirit people in Canada. As we honour the memories of those who are no longer with us, we must also recommit ourselves to the fight for justice, equality, and respect for Indigenous rights. By standing in solidarity with Indigenous communities and demanding action from our leaders, we can work towards a future where every woman, girl, and two-spirit person is safe, valued, and able to live their lives free from violence and discrimination.

The Origin and Significance of Christopher Street Day (CSD) in 2024 The History of CSD Christopher Street Day, or CSD, originated from the Stonewall Riots, which took place on June 28, 1969, in New York City. These riots began when the police conducted a raid at the Stonewall Inn, a bar on Christopher Street frequented by the LGBTQ+ community. The patrons of the bar resisted the regular police harassment, sparking a series of protests and demonstrations that lasted for several days.
The Stonewall Riots are considered a turning point in the fight for LGBTQ+ rights and marked the beginning of a new era of visibility and activism. To commemorate these events and celebrate the achievements of the LGBTQ+ movement, CSD parades and events have been held worldwide since the early 1970s.
Significance of CSD in 2024 In 2024, CSD has not lost its significance; in fact, it has gained even more importance. At a time when discussions about equality and human rights are gaining prominence worldwide, CSD remains a crucial symbol for the rights and recognition of LGBTQ+ individuals. Today, CSD is more than just a parade; it is a loud and colorful protest against injustice, discrimination, and fascism.
CSD and Fascism: A Growing Resistance The LGBTQ+ community has often suffered under fascist and authoritarian regimes that relied on oppression and discrimination. The fight against fascism is, therefore, a central component of CSD. In times when far-right movements and populist politicians are resurging in many parts of the world, the resistance from the LGBTQ+ community becomes increasingly significant.
CSD events today are a sign of resistance against all forms of tyranny and a call for solidarity among all who stand for freedom, equality, and human rights. The parades and demonstrations serve as a reminder that the fight for LGBTQ+ rights is inseparable from the fight against all forms of discrimination and oppression.
Tumblr media
Streetparade and Other Demonstrations Similar to CSD, the Streetparade in Zurich, which originally began as a celebration of the electronic music scene, has also taken on a political dimension. It serves as a platform to promote tolerance, diversity, and peace. The close connection between these events and the LGBTQ+ movement highlights the importance of fighting together for an open and inclusive society.
CSD in 2024 is a powerful symbol of the achievements and ongoing struggles of the LGBTQ+ community. It commemorates the historical roots of the fight for equality and sends a strong message against fascism and intolerance. In a constantly changing world, CSD remains a steadfast anchor in the quest for a more just and humane society.
The uploaded image impressively represents these principles by showcasing the strength and determination of the LGBTQ+ community in an artistic and powerful context. It embodies the blend of celebration and protest that makes CSD such an important and significant event.

A World War II Spitfire combat plane crashed near a British Air Force base in eastern England yesterday (05/25), killing the pilot, the United Kingdom Ministry of Defense said.
The ministry confirmed the death of a British Royal Air Force pilot “in a tragic accident” near the RAF Base in Coningsby. There was no immediate information about the cause of the accident.
Tumblr media
In a statement, an RAF spokesman said: "It is with great sadness that we must confirm today the death of an RAF pilot in a tragic accident near RAF Coningsby. The pilot's family has been informed and we ask that your privacy be respected at this difficult time."
Tumblr media
— RAF Coningsby (@RAFCConingsby) May 25, 2024
The base, about 230 km north of London, houses modern fighters and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF), a collection of war fighters and bombers who participate in air shows and memorial displays.
Tumblr media
Several of the planes were supposed to hold a flight show on Saturday (local time) at the neighboring Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Center.
Lincolnshire Police said emergency services were called on Saturday afternoon (local time) for reports that an aircraft had crashed in a field in Coningsby. The force said: "it is believed that it is a single-ocpier aircraft and that no one else is involved".
The accident happened days before war aircraft rose to the skies to commemorate the 80º anniversary of D-Day, the Allied invasion of Normandy on June 6, 1944.
Paying tribute to the pilot, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Rishi Sunak, wrote on social networks: "It is terrible news to see the life of a pilot in RAF service interrupted in this tragic event. My thoughts are with your family and loved ones."

The Prince and Princess of Wales added to the tributes and said they were "incredibly sad" to learn of the death of the RAF pilot.
Incredibly sad to hear of the news this afternoon from RAF Coningsby. Our thoughts this evening are with the pilot's loved ones, the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, and the wider RAF family. W & C

The aircraft that crashed, the Spitfire Mk.IX "MK356", was integrated into the BBMF fleet in 1997. He carried out his 60 operational surges in time of war between April 14 and June 14, 1944 and participated in the D-Day operations.

More than 20,000 Spitfires were built in the 1930s and 1940s and the skillful and maneuverable plane played a key role in the defense of the United Kingdom from the attacks of the German Luftwaffe during the Battle of Great Britain in 1940.
There are only a few dozen Spitfires left in airworthiness conditions, including six that belong to the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.

Israeli forces killed three Palestinians in a raid on Tulkarem, northwest of the West Bank, early on Thursday, the Palestinian health ministry announced in a statement. The three men were Ayman Mubarak, 26, Husam Daabas, 22, and Muhammad Nasrallah, 27. Crowds of Palestinians in the city marched with their bodies from the Thabet Thabet hospital to the Tulkarem cemetery on Thursday at noon, where they were laid to rest.
ِAlso on Thursday morning, Israeli forces killed a Palestinian teenager in Jerusalem and claimed that he attempted to stab Israelis in Jerusalem’s Old City. The teenager was identified as Nur Shehab, 17, from the Sowana neighborhood in the city. The lawyer of the Wadi Hilweh Information Center in Jerusalem later reported that the Israeli police had arrested Shehab’s parents at their home. Israeli forces withheld Shehab’s body.
On Wednesday afternoon, Israeli forces opened fire at Palestinian protesters at Ramallah’s north entrance, who were commemorating Nakba day, killing a student at Birzeit University. The slain student was Aysar Safi, 20, a second-year student at Birzeit’s physical education faculty, from the Jalazon refugee camp north of the city. Safi was hit by a live bullet fired by Israeli soldiers while taking part in the Nakba day protests and was transferred to the Ramallah public hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival. Hundreds of Palestinian students gathered at Birzeit University and carried Aysar Safi’s body in a funeral procession within the campus, before heading to his home in the Jalazon refugee camp, where he was given a second funeral procession in the alleys of the camp before being taken to his final resting place. Safi had been active in student and youth groups since he was in high school. His friends recalled his participation in volunteer work activities and told Mondoweiss that he was considered “the youngest brother” by his group of friends. “Aysar was very kind and caring, but he was also very energetic and active,” a friend of his who asked not to be named told Mondoweiss. He felt strongly about the prisoners in the occupation jails, especially student detainees, and was always present at their release to welcome them. He was very optimistic about a potential prisoner exchange that would see them all released. Aysar Safi’s own father and older brother are both prisoners in Israeli jails. He took care of his father’s aluminum workshop since his father’s arrest and worked in it while studying at the same time. “Aysar was very responsible, hard-working, and hard-studying, very good at football and progressing in his learning of sports education,” his uncle told journalists at his funeral. “We had high hopes in him.” His mother, still in denial, refused to speak to the media, while surrounded by Aysar’s friends and his two younger siblings.
Since October 7, Israeli forces or settlers have killed 503 Palestinians in the West Bank and Jerusalem.

American Christian Fundamentalism is Ruling Class Propaganda
Today is March 31st, 2024, which has marked the Day of Transgender Visibility for the past fifteen years. As an act of lip service, President Biden has decided to commemorate this important day for the transgender community, provoking a predictable eruption of transphobia from American Christian fundamentalists who seem to act as if the only thing anyone should be doing right now is celebrating Easter. With these morons babbling so viciously at the mere prospect of transgender individuals existing in public, you'd think they would be a leading cause of climate change because of all of the oxygen that they've converted into carbon dioxide through their endless noise. I'm starting to think that they actually are.
But the reality is even more twisted and backwards than it appears at first glance. Recently, it was revealed that the U.S. Empire—under the authority of Joe Biden—quietly bypassed Congress to supply Israel with billions of dollars worth of bombs and war planes to fuel their genocidal rampage through Palestine. We are witnessing a bloodthirsty binge of destruction that has claimed 30,000 lives, including 12,000 innocent children, all financed by the American working class. But American Christian fundamentalists don't seem to give an ounce of shit about their taxpayer dollars bankrolling bombs that are being dropped on the literal birthplace of their Jesus since they're too bothered by their futile quest to "defeat transgenderism."
So why is it that American Christian fundamentalism always seems to punch down on the marginalized and vulnerable while ignoring the evils being perpetrated by those in power? It's almost as if this brainwashing cult is just a convenient tool that is being used to seduce the masses into policing their own morality—whether that be by bashing the gays, slut-shaming women and girls, or bullying the transgender community—to serve as a distraction from the festering corruption of the U.S. ruling class as they seek to amass wealth and power through exploitative means.
If only more eyes could see this reality. If only more ears could hear this truth. Then the world would be an infinitely better place.

BACC RULES - Updated March 11, 2024 (Unwanted babies)
Sul Sul! I used to play Valeree BACC, I played until year 3 when I lost the save. I ended up staying weeks away from the sims, you know, frustration. But it didn't last long. I'm back with this new challenge.  You can find many rules on the internet and mine are very inspired by @pleasantsims  with some changes since I play TS4 and she play TS2. If you have no idea what BACC is, in an extremely brief way, the goal of this challenge is to start with a completely blank neighborhood and to create an entire “Sim City.” Please note, rules may be added, removed or modified at any point in time. My main focus is getting to know my sims and telling a good story.
STARTING OUT
Start with however many played sims you want. I really like the unforeseen so I used a die to determine how many founders my new save would have. I advise something between 3 and 8, because at first, everyone will live on the same lot, “The Founders’ Boat”. Later in the game, when the founders move into their own homes, all of my sims will be played rotationally. ALL of them!
They’re in the middle of nowhere, so service sims such as maids, police officers, firefighters and delivery sims are locked at the start of the game.
I gave them enough money to buy a lot and withdrew all the money before starting the game. My founders started this journey with no simoleons. At this stage of the game, they made simoleons by fishing, planting, searching for treasure, building at the woodworking table, and painting on canvas. Here you need to be strategic, when the first simoleons arrive, what to do with it? Buy a tent? A barbecue? Or a woodworking table and easel where sims can make even more money?
In the beginning, in the middle of nowhere, of course they don’t have electricity, so the off the grid trait is mandatory on all lots until electricity is unlocked. I have specific rules for electricity even after it’s unlocked. But to summarize, a particularly poor neighborhood will continue to have the off-the-grid trait even after the electricity is unlocked.
SETTINGS
I play with the four seasons, starting with winter. Each season lasts for 14 days. For each season I have some specific holidays:
-WINTER
Watcher’s Day: a national holiday where children don’t have school and adults don’t work. A day to decorate the house, make big meals and invite the family to celebrate. .
New year’s Day: National holiday where children don’t have school and adults don’t work. A day to make new resolutions, gather friends and celebrate the beginning of a new year.
-SPRING
Founders’ Day: a national holiday where children don’t have school and adults don’t work. A day to light a fire, roast marshmalows, tell new generations about old story and enjoy the arts at the museum.
Chocolate’ Day: Commemorative date but not a national holiday, children go to school and adults work. A day to be surrounded by children looking for chocolate eggs hidden around the house.
Flower’ Day: Commemorative date but not a national holiday, children go to school and adults work. A day to gift someone you love and call a crush on a date.
-SUMMER
Summer recess: It takes place on all weekdays of the summer, when children don’t go to school and adults don’t work. A great opportunity to enjoy the sun, travel and discover a new hobby.
-FALL
Harvest’ Day: National holiday where children don’t have school and adults don’t work. A day to prepare a big meal, invite the family and prepare for the winter.
Ancestors’ Day: Commemorative date but not a national holiday, children go to school and adults work. A day to remember all those who have died, children collecting treats from other people’s homes and telling scary stories.
SIMS
My sims have a custom lifespan.
Pregnancy: 14 days
Baby: 14 days
Infant: 28 days
Toddler: 42 days days
Child: 56 days
Teen: 56 days
Young Adult: 168 days
Adult: 168 days
Elderly: 112+/-
My cats have a custom lifespan.
Pregnancy: 4 days
Kitty: 8 days
Adult: 80 days
Elderly: 14+
My dogs have a custom lifespan.
Pregnancy: 4 days
Puppy: 5 days
Adult: 85 days
Elderly: 20+
It seems like a long time, but since I play in rotations, it gives me time to get to know all the sims at all stages of their lives. In other words, it means that a child and a teenager live a whole year sim (the four seasons) and a young adult and an adult live three whole years sim. For that, I use the mod MC COMMAND CENTER
AGING
To make the game a bit more realistic and challenging, that keeps me far from bored, my sims' lives depend on dice numbers. (heavily inspired by @morbidgamer ultimate decades challenge) Always on the sim's birthday, I'll roll a dice to decide if they are going to live or die. Since there are no hospitals or doctors at the beginning of the game, the death rate can be really high.
If a female sims becomes pregnant, on the day of the birth I roll a d20 die to decide if she will survive the birth and another d20 die to decide if the newborn will survive the birth. If the mother or newborn rolls one of the numbers below, it means they will die. After that, it's the same for every sims birthday, a d20 die will be rolled to decide if they will reach the next stage of life or will die.
Pregnant woman on delivery' day: 1
Newborn on delivery' day: 3 - 5 - 10 - 13 - 15 - 20
Infant: 2 - 8 - 11 - 14
Toddler: 4 - 6 - 9 - 12
Child: 3 - 5 - 7 - 13 - 16 - 18
Teen: 8 - 17 - 19
Young Adult: 1 - 4 - 11
Adult: 2 - 6 - 8 - 10 - 12 - 14 - 16
Elder: Less than or equal to 10 they die. Greater than or equal to 11 they live.
If the sim made it to the elder stage alive, I roll a d2 die to decide how many extra years they will have.
ROTATIONS
I play each household from Sunday 4 am to Wednesday 4 am and Wednesday 4 am to Sunday 4 am.
FAVORITE COLORS
I assign each of my Sims a favorite color to help me with clothing choices and decorating their rooms/homes. I choose the color based on whatever clothing color they’re wearing when they age up. In my eyes, they chose the color themselves so it must be their favorite.
Each Sim’s favorite color changes at each life stage (unless they choose the same one again by wearing the same color as the last age up). I do not assign favorite colors for babies or infant. Sims get their first favorite color when aging up to a toddlers.
NAMING CONVENTIONS
I name newly born Sims based on which letter of the alphabet currently has the fewest living Sims with a first name beginning with that letter.
I begin with the letter A and go through the alphabet. If there are living Sims with names that begin with the letter A, I move to letter B, etc. until I come to the next letter of the alphabet that does not correspond to the name of a current living Sim. In the rare case where all letters are taken, I will start over and find the first letter with the fewest living Sims.
MARRIAGE
I play in a historical/medieval world, therefore, marriages are only legally authorized and recognized between men and women. Marriage can happen from the moment that both are at least young adults as a result of one of the possible scenarios:
Love Marriage: When two sims fall in love and decide to get married. Here, the bride's family needs to pay the future husband a dowry worth 3% of the family's net worth. That is, the value of the lot + the amount of money they have.
Arranged Marriage: For this, I use Arranged Marriage' mod. These marriages take place in the interests of the families of the young couple. Here, the bride's family needs to pay her future husband a dowry worth 10% of the family's net worth.
PREGNANCY
When a couple gets married, it is decided on their wedding day how many times they can try for a baby. It is necessary to take into account that trying to have a baby is not the same as the number of babies they will have. For example, a couple who may try to have a baby 3 times, and in the first pregnancy they have triples, they can still try to have a baby for the remaining two attempts.
I use the personality of each Sim as a decision. For that, I use Pregnancy & Family Preferences & Impact mod which will individually decide if sims would like to have children or not. That said, it will be considered that:
Sims that WOULD BE HAPPY TO HAVING A CHILD can try for a baby 3 times.
Sims that are NEUTRAL REGARDING HAVING A CHILD can try for a baby 1 times.
Sims that DON'T WANT TO HAVE A CHILD RIGHT NOW can try for a baby 0 times.
The number of COUPLE attempts is the sum of the attempts. For example:
A couple where the husband doesn't want a child right now and the wife would be happy to have a child, the couple might try for a baby 3 times, since 0+3=3
ADOPTION
Sims who spent all their attempts to have a baby and are unsuccessful are considered infertile and eligible to adopt. Sims may only adopt if there are eligible children in the neighborhood that have been put up for adoption or if they find a lost children in the woods (adopt by the phone).
Eligible Sims may adopt (in order of priority):
-Unwanted babies
-Children in the woods
UNWANTED BABIES
When an unmarried female Sim gets pregnant, I use her personality as a decision. For that, I use Pregnancy & Family Preferences & Impact mod which will individually decide if sims would like to have children or not. That said, it will be considered that:
If she WOULD BE HAPPY TO HAVING A CHILD she will keep the baby and raise it herself.
If she is NEUTRAL REGARDING HAVING A CHILD I will use a d20 die to decide. If the number is less than or equal to 10 she will keep the baby and raise it herself. If the number is greater than or equal to 11 the baby is unwanted and are put up for adoption upon birth.
If she DOESN'T WANT TO HAVE A CHILD RIGHT NOW the baby is unwanted and are put up for adoption upon birth.
If a Sim is in a relationship and one of them doesn't want to have a baby, we need to decide whether that Sim will try to improve the relationship with the child or not.
If the sim DOESN'T WANT TO HAVE A CHILD RIGHT NOW I will use a d20 die to decide. If the number is less than or equal to 10 they will NOT try to improve the relationship with the child and negative interactions are encouraged. If the number is greater than or equal to 11 they will try to improve this relationship.
See you in PART TWO.

Bring back the old days when men used to kill themselves if these kinds of pictures went public
By Genevieve Gluck February 18, 2024

A British retailer is under fire after featuring a transgender BDSM fetishist in a new ad campaign highlighting “diverse” employees. To commemorate LGBT+ History Month, John Lewis Partnership (JLP) released a photo exhibition called the Identity Project, which highlights staff who identify as transgender or queer. The content was created as part of JLP’s 32-page internal magazine, Identity, which was distributed to the company’s 80,000 employees.
Yet critics on social media swiftly pointed out that some participants in the photography project had troubling backgrounds — including one trans-identified male who had been uploading disturbing bondage fetish photos to his Flickr and Facebook accounts
Marc Geoffrey Albert Whitcombe, who was positively profiled in the campaign, has worked for JLP at Waitrose Brighton for over two decades. In February 2021, Whitcombe legally changed his name to “Ruby Geoffrey Michael Porcelain Whitcombe,” in accordance with his self-declared transgender status.
According to the image produced in collaboration with photographer Chris Jepson for JLP, Whitcombe began to identify as transgender in 2015 “after accessing mental health support.” The photo of Whitcombe depicts him in fetish attire, wearing a wig, and holding a multi-tailed whip.
Tumblr media
“[He] came out to [his] friends and family and started transitioning, presenting more and more as female, and [he] now presents as female full-time,” reads the copy, referring to Whitcombe with feminine pronouns. “[His] transition brought about a new confidence that saw [him] start performing at local competitions and open mics, culminating in lip-syncing for Graham Norton in the grand final of one of Europe’s biggest Lip Sync competitions and singing live on stage at one of Europe’s biggest trans Pride events.”
Prior to identifying as transgender, Whitcombe had been performing as a drag queen at burlesque shows under the moniker Tran-Tula. A Facebook account used to promote his events is described as “a page for my kinky and trans-drag performing alter-ego.”
Posting under the alias Ruby Porcelain online, Whitcombe has uploaded hundreds of images of himself in fetish gear, bondage, and lingerie. Some photos depicted Whitcombe in dresses, spreading his legs to reveal himself in women’s underwear, and others show Whitcombe holding sex toys in his mouth.
Under a now-deleted Flickr account, Whitcombe can be seen in a variety of sexual poses, holding handcuffs, wearing a police uniform and brandishing a whip, or sporting thigh-high PVC boots.
Pornographic images seen by Reduxx that were saved under Whitcombe’s favorites folder depict other “sissy” crossdressing men in bondage, hogtied and gagged, or alternatively decked out in silicone costumes designed to resemble women — part of a fetish subculture known as female masking.
One of the first groups joined by Whitcombe, according to his profile, is a crossdressing fetish community where men share similar content, captioned with pornographic language, such as “Sucking cock: the ultimate turn-on,” and, “Who goes out in public?”

An alternative Flickr account run by Whitcombe interacts with dozens of groups dedicated to photos of graveyards. Whitcombe uses the account to share hundreds of his own images of cemeteries and tombstones as a participant in a taphophilia subculture that celebrates a compulsive interest in the rituals of death. In one Facebook post dated April 2020, Whitcombe states that he regularly frequents graveyards in order to “exercise.”
Following the revelation of Whitcombe’s sadomasochistic proclivities, JLP Executive Director James Bailey released an internal staff memo that was leaked by former barrister and advocate James Esses.
“You may have seen coverage in the press and on social media over the past 24 hours following the publication of the Identity magazine,” reads the memo. “We have an ambition to become the UK’s most inclusive employer, because celebrating diversity will make us a better business. That means creating an environment where everyone feels welcome irrespective of their backgrounds or beliefs.”
The statement went on to offer mental health support to any individual who had been “affected” by any of the “coverage,” without mentioning the fetish content and pornography that had been publicly shared by Whitcombe.

Other JLP employees featured in the LGBT+ campaign included a nursery advisor in bondage gear associated with the so called ‘pup’ and furry community, which incorporates a sexual interest in dressing up as animals. Additionally, Liberal Democrat councillor Sean Macleod, of Lewes and Eastbourne, was profiled despite being publicly criticized last year for a “misogynistic” social media post which read, “Fuck the TERFs,” a euphemism for women who oppose gender identity policies.
In 2019, public outcry erupted after John Lewis’ clothing retail shops were discovered to have adopted a ‘gender-neutral’ policy for its changing rooms, which, as critics pointed out, allowed men who declared a transgender status to use the fitting rooms reserved for women.
In the days leading up to the most recent controversy, which saw John Lewis trending on social media platform X for two days with calls for a boycott, Esses had criticized what he called the “trans takeover of John Lewis,” and described in detail other aspects of JLP’s Identity magazine.
“This month, JLP published a new internal magazine, entitled ‘Identity’. It was the brainchild of JLP’s ‘LGBTQIA+ network’. It was promoted to every one of its 80,000 staff members (known as Partners). A copy of the magazine was sent to me by someone working at JLP, too afraid to speak out themselves,” Esses wrote on his Substack.
Tumblr media
Among the concerning ideological content highlighted by Esses was the promotion of breast binders for minors and pressure from higher-ups on personnel to wear pronoun badges at work.
“Most worrying of all is when the article goes on to recommend Mermaids as a resource to parents. This is the same Mermaids currently under investigation by the Charity Commission for safeguarding concerns, including sending breast binders to children behind parents’ backs,” Esses says.
“Shockingly, the article goes a step further, by actually recommending online videos which show children how to achieve their ‘desired gender identity, for example, chest binders’. Readers are told that ‘a binder is always safer than the alternatives.'”
Women’s rights campaigner and founder of advocacy group Sex Matters, Maya Forstater, referred to JLP’s promotion of Whitcombe as part of a larger trend she called “bring your autogynephilia to work,” a term defined as a male sexual fetish for pretending to be female.
“It is sexist and insulting to women to pretend that these men’s hobby of dressing up and wearing wigs makes them women,” Forstater remarked.
In recent years, several other men have been held up as role models for wearing sexualized female-coded attire. One of the men presented as an example of the phenomenon, Philip, or ‘Pippa’ Bunce, was in 2018 included in a list of Britain’s top 100 female executives compiled for the Champions of Women in Business awards.
